Summary of Limited Insurance coverage:
If we damage the piano, we will have it repaired by a professional piano technician. If the piano is damaged beyond repair or the cost of the repair is over the value of the piano, the insurer will pay the actual USED MARKET VALUE based on its age and condition up to a maximum of $20,000.
Unless we severely damage your piano (more than $1000 repair cost by our piano repair professionals of exterior finish damage), the inside works and the condition of your piano are not covered by insurance as we have no idea of the current interior condition of your piano at pickup.
Please take new date stamped photos of your piano prior to pick up showing all previous marks or scratches that you may not have noticed before we pick up. People regularly have not noticed small marks over the years of ownership and only inspect their piano for the first time at a new location and notice marks that have been there for years after moving it for the first time.
If you have an extremely high value piano, over $20,000 used replacement value you should seek additional insurance through your home owner insurance provider as our liability maxes out at $20,000. NOTE: Sentimental value is not insurable.
If there are any areas that are so tight that even with the piano maneuvered on its end are scraping the walls while turning, this is deemed high risk and not covered by insurance. Wood floors, wood & tile stairs, tile, stone and concrete flooring and stairs are NOT insured for damage due to the heavy weight of the pianos moving over them and can sometimes dent or crack them on very rare occasions. We will take all reasonable care over these areas with blanketing and neoprene along with rubber dolly wheels.
As professional piano movers for over 43 years, we take all care to protect your piano. Please contact any piano store, tuner, teacher for recommendations on who to use to safely move your piano.
